唐庆华，出生于上海。读中学时因文化大革命而辍学。嗣后，坚持自学数理化、外语、古典文学与历史。1977年以优异成绩被华东师范大学外语系英文专业录取。

 1980年获得英国广播公司主办的世界英语比赛第一名，应邀赴英国旅行。同年10月进入伦敦经济学院，1983年毕业于金融会计专业，获经济学理学士学位。旋又赴美进入哈佛大学商学院，1985年毕业，为新中国第一位获得哈佛大学工商管理硕士（MBA）学位者。

专业经验

 具有近20年从事投资管理的经验, 是我国少数在华尔街长期工作的资深人士。曾在罗思柴尔德投资银行、巴克莱银行投资部、三井投资公司美国分公司、莱登伯格证券公司等担任投资分析员和投资基金经理。投资经验涵盖股票投资、债券投资、债股结合性投资、桥梁性投资、项目投资与非上市公司的投资。

    2004年到2007年初，作为汇添富基金公司国际顾问, 对公司的投资导向,方法, 流程提出咨询意见利用他在国外市场上积累的投资经验对公司的投资导向、方法和流程进行指导，并设计投资框架，构思投资策略、组建和培训投资团队。目前是美国私募投资咨询公司卡尼基.托尔公司常务董事，并担任中国注册理财规划师协会国际事务委员会主席。  

   著作

《哈佛经理学院亲历记》1990年和1996年由香港三联书店、北京三联书店和台湾联经出版社出版，颇得好评，成为畅销读物。  

《如何投资—华尔街上谈金融》初版于1994年, 是国内最早的一本关于投资管理的书。该书由中国北京电视台摄制成八集电视专题系列片《华尔街上谈金融》在全国播映，并获美国安泰人寿保险公司、威士信用卡国际组织、纳斯达克证券市场与芝加哥商业交易所赞助，以及美国财政部、美国证券管理委员会、纽约证券交易所、美国公共电视台和多家美国公司支持。该书于2006年1月由上海人民出版社再版。

 姐妹篇《如何理财—现代家庭理财规划》探讨家庭理财的整体规划。该书不是将投资作为一个孤立的课题加以研究，而是将它置于家庭理财规划的框架下加以审视。该书初版由2000年由香港三联书店和上海人民出版社出版。2005年8月由上海人民出版社再版。

 唐先生1980年首次在中国《世界文学》上发表小说译作。英文著作《中国智慧》于2000年在美国出版。英语小说《西施》于2007年出版，2008年5月在全世界发行。

 新作英汉对照《中国智慧故事》于2008年出版。2008年出版。《中国智慧故事》共有四册，搜集了中国历史经典中最著名的故事，全都是中国智慧宝库里的明珠。读者即使不熟悉中国历史，也能欣赏故事里超越时空的寓意。第一册的主题是管理智慧。第二册的主题是机智与幽默。第三册的重点是教育与伦理。第四册的重点是权谋与兵法。

 Born in Shanghai, Michael Tang won the first prize in a worldwide English competition sponsored by the BBC in 1980 when he was a student at the East China Teachers University majoring in English language and literature. Subsequently he went to Britain to study and graduated with honors from the London School of Economics with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Economics, majoring in accounting and finance. In 1983, he entered Harvard Business School and graduated in 1985 as the first Harvard MBA from mainland China since the founding of the People's Republic in 1949.

    After graduation, he worked in a European management consulting firm as an investment advisor on joint ventures and technology transfer  in China. Since 1989, he has worked as an investment banker on project finance and  leveraged buy-out transactions with a major investment bank, and then worked as an investment manager for a private investment boutique firm, managing a multi-million portfolio of equity and mezzanine investment. 

    Michael Tang provides advisory services to investors on investment in China and divides his time between homes in New York City and Shanghai. He is managing director of Carnegie Towers, a strategic investment advisory company based in New York. He is also the chairman of international affairs committee of the Chinese Institute of Certified Financial Planners. 

    Michael Tang is the author of How to Invest --Talking about Money on Wall Street. The book was adapted into a  television series in China in 1995 produced by China Beijing Television which Michael Tang hosted. The program received corporate sponsorships from Aetna Life Insurance, Visa International, Chicago Mercantile Exchange and The Nasdaq Stock Market. How to Manage Your Money -- The Complete Guide to Family Financial Planning (2000) was the first book on this topic published in China. 

    He is also the author of a best-selling book in China entitled A Chinese in Harvard Business School: First-Hand Experience published in 1990.

     A Victor's Reflections -- And Other Tales of China's Timeless Wisdom was published by Prentice Hall Press in 2000. Siren of China, a historical novel, was published in 2007.

     The Book of Chinese Wisdom was published in 2008. It has four volumes. Book One is about the art of management;  Book Two's  theme is wit and humor; Book Three focuses on virtues and values; and Book Four contains famous stories of power and influence.
